Nutritional benefits of macadamia butter

Macadamia nut butter is not only delicious, but it is also packed with health benefits.

Macadamia nuts are high in healthy monounsaturated fats. These have been shown to improve heart health, lower cholesterol levels, and reduce inflammation in the body.

They are also a good source of antioxidants, which can help protect against oxidative stress and cellular damage.

Macadamias are a good source of protein, fiber, and essential nutrients such as magnesium, iron, and zinc.

Transforming the nuts into a paste allows you to add these nutritional benefits to your diet in a range of new ways.

How to use macadamia butter

Macadamia butter has a unique flavour that is sweet and nutty making it a versatile ingredient that can be used in a variety of recipes. Smoothies and baked goods, savoury sauces and marinades can all benefit from a tablespoon of this power-packed ingredient.

Unlike other nut butters, which can be quite dry and gritty, macadamia nut butter has a smooth and creamy texture that is perfect for spreading on toast or crackers in the same way that you would a dairy-based spread.

It’s also great for spreading on fresh fruitstuffing into fresh dates, used as a chocolate filling or as a savoury dip.

How to make macadamia butter

The process of making macadamia nut butter is simple and straightforward. Firstly, you may like to roast the nuts to enhance their flavour. Once roasted, grind the nuts into a smooth paste using a food processor or a high-speed blender.

Depending how long you blitz them for you can make a crunchy or a smooth nut butter.

Once you’ve mastered that basic recipe (and it’s really not hard!) you can move onto more involved recipes with other ingredients like raspberry, dark chocolate, white chocolate, honey or vanilla.
