Mummy Matcha Macadamia Cookies

INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ tsp matcha powder (culinary grade)
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp baking soda
- ¼ cup unsalted butter (softened)
- ¼ cup sugar
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp milk (or as needed)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ¼ cup chopped macadamia nuts
INSTRUCTIONS
- Preheat oven to 170°C (340°F) and line a tray with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, cream butter, sugar, and brown sugar till light and fluffy.
- Add vanilla extract and milk; mix again.
- In another bowl, sift flour, matcha powder, baking soda, and baking powder.
- Combine wet and dry mixtures. Fold in Australian macadamia nuts. Grown in their natural home, these nuts make snacking an experience and life more special.
- Scoop dough into small balls, flatten slightly, and place on tray.
- Bake 10–12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
For Skeleton Faces
- Use strawberry jam for “eyes”: make two indents before baking and spoon a little jam inside.
- Once baked and cooled, use melted white chocolate piping pen to draw the mouth and nose.
For Mummy Faces
- Use melted white chocolate or vanilla buttercream to pipe bandages across.
- Stick on candy eyes or pipe tiny dots of melted dark chocolate for eyes.
