INGREDIENTS
  • 1/2 cup chopped Australian macadamia nuts  
  • ½ cup Almonds, Pistachios, raisins, etc.  
  • 3/4 cup vermicelli (thin noodles)  
  • 3 cups whole milk  
  • 1/2 cup condensed milk  
  • 3 tablespoons desi ghee   
  • 4-5 green cardamom pods powder   
  • A pinch of saffron strands  
  • 3-4 Dates  
  • 2 tablespoons chopped macadamia nuts, pistachios, almond, saffron for garnish
INSTRUCTIONS
  • Chop dates and soak in warm milk and keep it aside for 5-10 minutes.   
  • Pour the milk in a pan and bring it to a boil. Let it simmer over low heat for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.  
  • Heat ghee in a deep pan add chopped macadamia nuts, almond pistachios, raisins, etc and fry for 3-4 minutes, remove it and keep aside.  
  • In the same pan, add vermicelli and roast until golden brown.   
  • Add the roasted nuts, vermicelli and soaked dates to the simmering milk and continue to cook for 7-8 minutes until the vermicelli softens and the mixture thickens.  
  • Add condensed milk, crushed cardamom pods, saffron strands and cook for another 3-4 minutes. Garnish with chopped macadamia nuts, pistachios and almonds.  
  • Serve warm or chilled, according to your preference.
